What is Title I?
Title I is the largest federally funded program for elementary, middle and high school. Title I provides funds to school districts around the country based on the number of low-income families in each district. The big picture is Title I is to help all students meet the same high standards and expectations.
A school is eligible to receive Title I funds when the student poverty level is at or above 35 percent. All Bulloch County elementary and middle schools, including Portal Middle High School are school-wide Title I schools.
